- Typus: A.A. Bullock 1398 (in flower, 3 November 1949; holotypus: K [K000411976(JSTOR)]; isotypi: BR [BR0000008851628(JSTOR)], K [cf. K000411977(JSTOR), without type indication apart from determination slip left by Bridson on November 2000]).
- Type locality: Zambia. Mbala Distr.: Lake Chila.
