Cerastes cerastes cerastes (Linnaeus, 1758) [conserved name]

  • Holotype: NHR Lin-98 (formerly MAFR), an anterior body section, presented by F. Hasselquist in 7 July 1750.
  • Type locality: “Oriente”.
  • Placed on the Official List of Generic Names in Zoology by Opinion 661 (1963: 191).
