Notes

[edit]

R. Hills, who has assessed Gilbertiodendron quadrifolium on 23 April 2020 for the IUCN Red List, concludes that it is a doubtful taxon for the following reasons:

  1. G. quadrifolium is only known with the type.
  2. Aubréville (1970) mentions neither the taxon G. quadrifolium nor its type.
  3. J. Léonard mentions, on the determination slip from 1952 on the Kew isotype, that G. quadrifolium is for the time being maintained as a species distinct from G. dewevrei, while waiting for a fruiting collection.
